SkinCalc is a new skinnable computer based calculator that works seamlessly with the standard Windows Calculator common to most computers and enhances the tools accessible to the user. Standard to SkinCalc are basic arithmetic functions, as well as additional tools such as square, square root, reciprocal, and a drop down menu of units. More complex tools include customization of the calculator through programmable keys, and the option of expanding service to currency calculations.
Although SkinCalc is said to function properly with Windows Vista, the software was actually designed, tested, and certified compatible with previous versions of Windows, specifically Windows XP. With the widespread use of Windows Vista, and the fact that all new computers come pre-loaded with this operating system, you may want to wait on Vista compatibility feedback before relying too heavily on this product.
SkinCalc can download up to 100 different skins. Skin files are used to vary the design and functionality. Its programmable keys include: Double-Zero, Triple-Zero, Square, Square Root, Base Conversion, Multiply and divide by Constant, Reciprocal ("1/x"), Bitwise Operators, Clear All, Convert to Previously-Used Unit and Convert to Preset Unit.
SkinCalc comes in different languages: English, German, French and Italian. But the default user interface language is the same as Windows installation language.
